ABOUT KOGEIKYOTO

Artists’ group JOGEI-KYOTO has been established in October 2006、with 6　Japan’s leading KOGEI (so to say decorative art, but in Japan, rather understood as fine art) artists and one art critic to develop our works for all over the world and inspire both their works and man’  spiritual life.

At first, they tried to have an KOGEI art exhibition in Paris, because 2008 is the memorial year of 150 years Relation between Japan and France, at same time, it was 50th anniversary year of conclude a pact of friendship cities o Kyoto and Paris.

18 top class KOGEI artists in Japan joined to organize the exhibition, and held it from Nov. 17 through December 6 at Espace Bértin Poirée, 1st. Ward Paris, under the title of “Art of KOGEI, Esprit of Kyoto”.  The Exhibition got around 2,000 people appreciated and most of them prized their works. 

And then, second Exhibition has been held at Vietnam Fine Arts Museum in Hanoi city, Vietnam, commemorating the 40years celebration of diplomatic relation between Japan and Vietnam and many citizens include National University’s professors and students of Arts department shown deep interesting. Beside these, in Japan we had 4 exhibitions and now (March, 2016) expecting 4 exhibition in both internal of Japan and over sea.

KOGEI *-KYOTO is composed of 31 ceramic, dyeing, Urushi (lacquer), metal, wood, glass and Japanese styled doll artist and one critic also historian. We don’t plan any routine work or anural events but do any thing or any time if it would recognized necessary to do for us as possible as by our own hands.

We do hope many Museums, Societies, Universities and common peoples etc. of all over the world cooperate us and make better living situation,
